Mac OS X SSL Enabler

SSL Enabler is an application that allows you to use Stunnel on a Mac OS X machine.  With SSL Enabler, you can use programs that are not capable of making secure connections to AT&T Worldnet.


To install and configure SSL Enabler:

  1. Download the software from Apple.
  2. Mount the disk image and copy SSL Enabler to your Applications folder. To proceed, you must have Administrator access to your computer.
  3. Launch SSL Enabler.

  4. Click the Add button.

  5. In the first row:
    1. In the Local Port field, enter 110
    2. In the Remote Server IP field, enter ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net
    3. In the Remote Port field, enter 995

  6. Click the Add button.
  7. In the second row:
    1. In the Local Port field, enter 25
    2. In the Remote Server IP field, enter imailhost.worldnet.att.net
    3. In the Remote Port field, enter 465

  8. Click the Add button.
  9. In the third row:
    1. In the Local Port field, enter 119
    2. In the Remote Server IP field, enter inetnews.worldnet.att.net
    3. In the Remote Port field, enter 563

  10. Click the Save button.

Note: To configure a mail client program to use SSL Enabler, you would change the incoming and outgoing mail servers to 127.0.0.1 The same would apply for a news client program. Your user name and password information should be entered as usual.
